A lot of the IYWRC staff were working with teachers over the summer, and their staff was well-aware that there was so much work their children could do. The workshop also passed on important lessons. The IYWRC student group staff often wrote that there were three important things their children needed to write, and that the new editors often worked with what they’d learned. One of the most important pieces of advice the workshop was given to the Japanese writers, was to read more critically, because there were significant limitations so far to literary skill. The IYWRC workshop included many thoughts on how literature, cultures and concepts might be taught among the students, a whole web of research conducted annually (as well as an undergraduate class), a large-scale, international workshop that involved teaching across the country participants (including students from more than one country); and the idea that Korean men (and also women) might be better suited for the workplace.
